A wise League member recently reminded me that in serving our mission, developing the potentional of women does not always have to be career focused. As women, we have so many talents and abilities and we want to foster those in all of us and create a league that provides you with interpersonal growth opportunities in ever aspect. Here are some of the ideas that have been brought up lately that members have expressed an interest in. *Golf perhaps a few free lessons, I know a guy, or a ladies 9 hole assn) *Sewing (again lessons, or an afternoon create session *Scrapbooking (The scrapbook store near firehouse offers classes, we could finish up those 7 yr old baby books!) *Cooking maybe Rachel Ray herself, or at least a local cullinary chef could fancy our tastebuds while we whip something up! *Self Defense Class it doesn't all have to be homemaker-ish, i would love to take a little stress out! Oragami? Organic Gardening?
Please share your ideas too and let us know what you think or would like to learn more about!

Leslie this is a wonderful idea. I loved being apart of the book club and any of the above sound great to me. It is alsomst like little cluster meetings.
I totally agree. I have heard feedback that too many extracurricular could dilute the energies and time of members and have a negative afect on the business of the league? The goal is that it would strengthen connections and friendships within the league, improving overall retention. What do you think?
I think that having more social non-league sponsored activities for members would definitely help member participation and retention. It would help members, especially the newer members, get to know each other better, forge new and stronger friendships and hopefully allow members to get more out of the league.
Personally, I like the golf and self defense ideas. I used to play golf somewhat regularly when I lived in GA (not well), but not much since I moved to FL (too hot most of the time and I am not one to get up at 6am to hit the course). The self defense is something I am sure we could all benefit from. Due to my lack of cooridination, I never really considered doing a class on my own.
